Our 2nd Anniversary!

 FIRST thing we see while celebrating two years of marriage at the Museum of Northern Arizona was this "Phytosaur Skull". I could not believe that everything in there was actually retrieved by archeologists in the actual areas of northern Arizona near the Colorado River! 

Well...

this phytosaur was a reptile that looked much like a modern crocodile, but its nostrils were located near the eyes, rather than at the tip of the snout. it was the larges predator in the water and nearby land and probably lived a life similar to a crocodile.

 Not to be confused with the below crocodile..

 I HAVE ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE PETRIFIED WOOD! THIS IS AMAZING!

 The fossilized dinosaur track!

 A fossilized social insect nest: This is a natural sandstone cast of the tunnels that made up the underground nest of a colony of social insects, possibly termites or ants.

 This dinosaur THIGH bone belonged to a Tyrannosaurus Rex! WOW it's almost bigger than me huh?

We also went to the Riordan Mansion. The Riordan's had been the railroad builders and then moved on to being involved in lumber, politics, cattle and banking.

This museum is actually scheduled to close on February 22, 2010, for an undetermined amount of time.

Kaymi and I meet Grandma and Pappa!

Kaymi and I have never seen Jason's Grandmother Gayle and her husband John. They live way up in northern California and so it was hard to get around seeing them. They actually drove down and we met them in Vegas where they were staying at the Cannery Hotel. It was a good time.

Kaymi now eats baby food all day long! She only nurses early morning and at night. Crazy to say but because of this, I really feel I accomplished something! It was not too fun to get her to quit. Eventually she will be cut off completely! After all her birthday is in December and personally, I do NOT think it logical to nurse past a year.

 Kaymi is actually willing to eat the baby food. Before she would only take it from my mom because she knew I had the good stuff. So at first she would only take a couple bites and then demand the to nurse.

 NOW two weeks later...she is so distracted by

 

Guess what? ...None other than the T.V.!

 And yes...my other baby is actually my husband, I need to take care of him too :). Jason has been not really feeling the importance of breakfast, so I took it upon myself to let him just 'drink it away'. His breakfast smoothies consist of fruits, water or milk, and ice and sometimes powdered protein. Sometimes frozen fruit can be used in place of ice

.This particular smoothie as you see above has the recipe of:

2 small bananas

1 whole apple (without core and YES with the skin on, it really does blend in nicely -Mom)

4oz. water

4oz. raspberry lemonade (as shown below)

1 handful of ice

BLEND!

 

They're sweet! I have even had them several times because they are quick and easy!

The Atlantic!

Kaymi and I went with all the women to Rehoboth Beach on the coast of Delaware. It was fun to put my feet in the Atlantic Ocean! Unfortunately I was unable to retrieve all the other pictures of me. So there are only two.

LOL...practically the SAME one, only my eyes are shut!

Kaymi won a WHALE!

SO....I love the library of New Castle County, DE! They were very good to me. Their Kirkwood location was extra outstanding! My first visit when Kaymi was about only 4 or 5 months old. The lady head of the kid's section saw Kaymi and asked, "AWE she is so adorable! How old is she?" After my reply, she then asked excitedly, "OH! Are you gonna sign her up for the reading club?!" 

My thoughts exactly..."Did you just hear me? She can't read..."

Seeing my puzzled look the lady went on to say, "Well if you read to her, or anytime she spends holding a book, throwing a book, biting a book, THAT COUNTS!"

Interesting....

So we humored her and signed up Kaymi for the reading club. 

DID I KNOW SHE WOULD BE WINING THINGS? Kaymi won crayons (twice), bubbles, and a book! She was awarded a certificate for reading 10 hours. (Don't be fooled: Church helped with getting hours.) Her name was put on the wall!

AND...I received a phone call saying that she had won the weekly drawing for a whale. Hmm, I wasn't aware of this; not amused  I thought, 'Sure -a little whale no bigger than my hand.Yay.'

What a shocker! Come to find that Kaymi didn't just win any whale -it was the big blue whale from Dr. Seuss' "If I Ran the Circus." Made by Khol's, that's almost a $20 vlaue! WOW! 

THEN to continue my bragging about the library...I really really really wanted to read the book, "Where Hope Begins" by Alysia Sofios. It is the true story about the Wesson Family survivors from Fresno, CA. I saw an ABC special and then was interested. I called my library to see if they had it...NOPE -oh but let's just borrow it from another library for ya. ...ALL THE WAY FROM TENNESSEE! Woo-Hoo! I was shocked again.My Delaware Library RULES! (Also check your library; mine also had new DVDs to check out for free. At least 3 at a time!)

Kaymi started crawling, so she didn't want to pose for the picture. I had to say, "Hey come back here!" I would get the camera ready, and then say, "K, ready.....GO!" and then take the picture. She laughed at me, it was funny and fun. Here they are:

Four months old!

YES! Here are the pictures and they are EVER SO LATE! Oh well. Kaymi started sitting up! She also loves to look at books.
